How do I get a GMAX file and import it into Ultimate Unwrap 3D?

(Ultimate Unwrap 3D has a trial version)
www.unwrap3d.com

Hugh Shoults references a tutorial by Finn Newick called "GMAX Dominator" in his "The Stupid Idiots' Guide to starting with gMax". www.simviation.com/gryphon/tutorials/gMax_00.htm

But the link gets me nowhere.

Can someone help me, or direct me to a good tutorial on importing gmax into Unwrap3D?

Thanks in advance

Ultima 3D Unwrap supports the Quake MDL format.

DOwnload the Tempest/Quake gamepack from the discreet site, export as a quake model.

I found the tempest gamepack at
www.gmaxsupport.com/html/download.asp

I hope that is the one you meant.

I can only export the file as one of:
.map
.md3
.p3d

Unwrap 3D only opens:
.u3d
.obj
.3ds
.asc
.x
.cob
.lwo
.dxf

Am I missing a step here?
Still no luck getting gmax into UnWrap 3D.

Gmax doesn't "unwrap".  I'm interested in it for that explicit purpose.  I've read the tutorials on using "print screen" to copy wire frames into PSP or similar, but have not had much luck with making distortions work well.  I was anticipating that Unwrap 3D will be able to give me an accurate template to paint.  If it works as well as I would hope it would, I'd unwrap stuff for anyone.

I have one use in mind right now for it, but if I finish this project, and had fun doing it, I would make a hobby out of making, designing, and repainting aircraft for FS. Or anything else that may pull my curiosity.
