Dropable Gear

Does anyone know how i can make an aircraft with landing gear that will drop after takeoff ( obviously with the command of "G" ). I wan to make this crazy looking german jet from WW2, which after takeoff, dropped it's gear. Anyone know how how i can do this so that the gear won't come back ( as in for the rest of the flight, no gear )?

Thanks :)

Fist approximation - it will  "drop" and disappear.

Make the trolley of your Arado 234A (PLEASE say you're not doing the Me163) to a small part hidden within the fuselage called "x_wheelwell" (It's immaterial whether its c_wheelwell, l_wheelwell or r_wheelwell).  Animate the trolley so that as you hit the G key, it "falls below and behind.

At the end of the retraction sequence, when the "gear" is fully retracted, it will disappear, since the x_wheelwell part is a conditional visibility part - anything tied to it is not visible with the gear retracted.

You may have to set a different animation to activate the landing skid, set permanent skid contact points, etc.

At the end of your flight, however, you'd have to reset the flight, since you "can't" extend the gear..:)

This, of course, is a three-coffee brain "gaseous effluent"

Hope this sets off other neural synapses.

lol, actually it's my own design based on documentation i found with data of many different types of trolley launched aircraft or drop-gear aircraft ;D
