I put the fx files in the effects folder and copied and pasted the sonic boom code and shooting star code the aircraft config for KOs viper but it just won't work. Could anyone help me out?

You probably need to add the gauges to the fs gauges folder and if the aircraft didn't come with the package it will require amending the panel.cfg to reflect the gauges installed.
eg.
[VCockpit01]
size_mm=32,32
pixel_size=32,32
texture=$Fake
background_color=0,0,0
visible=0
gauge00=foldername!gaugename, 1,1,1,1

I don't think there were any gauges.
I will try anyway, thanks

-edit:
There are no gauge files.

Are you sure there are no .XML files in there?

If you are talking about the effects pack.
non, just .fx files.

OK, I had a look at the file, and I see it uses the [Smokesystem] command line.
KO's viper already uses this for his effects, so if you replace the entries there, you need to then do something else.
Open the Vipers "Panel.cfg", and find and delete this entry.
[VCockpit11]
size_mm=32,32
pixel_size=32,32
texture=$exhaust
background_color=0,0,0
visible=0
gaugexx=keffect!kexhaust, 1,1,1,1
gauge00=keffect!gforce, 1,1,1,1
gauge01=DSBXML!DSBAburner, 1,1,1,1
Once you have dont that, your effect should work. As for as I can tell, the smokesystem was linked to the XML guage, and was calling on the wrong effect.
