I'm trying to make a Sikorsky S-58 with a rescue winch for FS2004. So i made the recue winch and animated the wire thingy that they use. What i did was set the time line in Gmax to 200 frames. I animated the rescue wire by at frame 0 making it 0.001 m long and by frame 100 9 m long. This worked perfectly fine in Gmax, but when i tested it in FS, as the tailhook ( Yes i named it tailhook, and i put the CGF data in for a tailhook ) but the animation did'nt show. I have aslo tried animating the editable mesh, but it doesnt move in FS. COuld someone please help?
Thanks
Mike

Animations do NOT work on parts that are being "stretched" or deformed.
That is - you can not make the part one length and animation start, and another length at animation end.
Basically, for a 1-meter extension, you'd have to take 10 .1m parts (segment) make each a child of the previous part, and animate each part .1m  i.e. - a telescope extension

tailhook is a keyframe animation, so it can be used as an auxiliary animation as well - translation and rotation.
