FSDS prop animation

Postby Colin_S » Sat Nov 08, 2003 4:26 pm

Just started using FSDS2 after lots of fun with Pro and I have a snag with props in CFS2. Following the -still,-slow,-blurred names in the stock anims, I either get the staionary prop not showing at all-starts with the slow one, or the stationary prop displays all the time. Exiting CFS2, going back to FSDS2 and trying to select the Prop_still Part Properties then crashes FSDS2.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

UNless it's a video mismatch, of sorts, I'd start with making sure you've chosen a CFS2 model from the File->Preferences: Sim Version dialog ...  perhaps you're creating an FS2002 model into CFS2?

Thanks for the mental nudge, Felix

- I read your bit and thought, but I don't have FS2002, how can I be sending it to the wrong sim? -

and then it occurred to me - I DO have a different version of FSDS - I upgraded to FSDS2 from FSDS Pro and I was trying to put a Pro P51 into FSDS2 and then send it to CFS2.
Using the Pro .fsc with all animated parts deleted and replaced with parts built in FSDS2 and animated there solved it.

You didn't have to delete the animated parts - typically, FSDS2 will ask you to delete all "FS2000" animation tags, etc.  I'll say yes, to get a  "clean" fsc, and then just rename the animated parts - then, of course, set the correct pivot points, keyframes, etc.
