Export Module Failure Revisited

as my previous post has gone unread, i thought i'd post again here it goes:

i'm having this problem when i try to export my plane to FS

i get an error message that says:

'MakeMDL was not found, or was not able to convert c:\gmax\gamepacks\fltsim\ximango into MDL format. check your system path to ensure MakeMDL is on it.'

then i get 'Export Module Failure'

and i can't export. :P

this is what the log file says:

Running model

Start! (C:\gmax\gamepacks\FlightSim\ximango)
Loading X C:\gmax\gamepacks\FlightSim\ximango...
Error in exporter: Mismatch between # vertex faces (467682) and # normal faces (907706) in part Sphere03.
Error!
Error!

now here is where things get weird.
there is NO part named Sphere03  :o

when i hit H to select by name, i find no sphere03 even with all grups open.
i'm thinking maybe it's a part that was renamed to something else but gmax still calls it sphere03...

so what do i do now?

Make a new sphere 3 (any shape) in a new scene and merge to that scene and see if it detects an old one. if it asks you to replace, keep ect.. then you will know for sure if thats the prob.Just a thought.

the problem has changed :P

i think MakeMDL does not want me to finish this plane ::)

i messed around with the model a bit and some things changed

now when i try to export, MakeMDL crashes, i get the same 'MakeMDL was not found' message, and i still can't export.

now the log file is empty

what now???

Ive had so much probs with Gmax at first I thought I would never learn, now it is alot easier,I think it has an AI.You might try resetting the defaults in makeMDL,Middleman ect...Sometimes it helped me.Also if you saved an earlier version you might try redoing your steps to where it first started. What I do is every time I make a change I save a new scene   example..(original saved as FS_1,next change FS_1a and so on,also I save to disk.)Also export often,  you dont have to go to the game its just trying to catch something before you get too far along.Like I have so many times before.Hope this helps.

i think my problem is MakeMDL, not the model

i did some testing, and i found out that even a plain box won't export because of this error.
