AF99 problem

I'm trying to produce a plane for CFS1 using AF99,and after 2 or 3 progress bars I get an eror msg," setswitch error". When I click ok I get," stopstatementencountered",with a yellow exclamation point. When I click on this AF99 closes. Any ideas what's going on here? I contacted Abacus and they didn't know, although they say they are no longer in contact with the creator of AF99.I'm running Win Me.

Hi Boink. I'm also on WinMe. It's been a while since I used AF99 & I no longer have it installed. It's a frustrating piece of kit but I don't remember ever seeing this or any other error message. Can you be a little more specific. What are you trying to do & at which point does the error crop up? Post shots if possible.

Hi Hagar,It happens when I hit the Produce button, after a few progress bars.I changed some things and got it to go farther, but it still won't finish.Sorry but I don't have a site to put up shots.

I can't figure out why that should happen. I suggest you try producing an existing source file to make sure there's no problem with your own project.

You can upload the shots to the SimV server. Hit the Upload Images link above the forum menu bar & follow the instructions. Resize the images if necessary & give them your own special unique file names before uploading them. Here's some tips for posting images. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=screen;action=display;num=1034608200

Do you have the last update of the program. It is no longer posted on Abacus's public site. The last time I needed it I had to contact customer support for the download. That's one possibility. Also check to see if you have exceeded any of the part, structure or component limits. Hmm, been a while since I used it. Another thing could be WinMe if memory serves it had a lot of buggs running games correctly. I still use Win 98se and AF99 runs fine with it. Your problem still could be elsewhere, these are the only prob fixes I remember. AF99 was a drudge to try and use as you probably know if you are at the produce stage. Andei Cinis plugins help a lot. Well worth the 5$ american shareware donation.

Hi Glitch. I think you might be on the right track with the AF99 update. I'm sure this has nothing to do with WinMe. I've been using it since it was released. It runs all my sims & FS utilities like AF99 & FSDS2 with no problem.

Hi Hagar, I must have been thinking of another version of windows. I still run 98.

Thanks both,I just got AF99 a couple months ago from Abacus, and it came with Service relaese 1,if that's the one you mean.I may have found the problem, though.I restarted and put a couple parts in at a time,(no smoothing or textures),and I have most of the plane, and it did produce. But since I couldn't get the results I wanted using structures,I made almost everything as parts/components,not realising that any unconnected points wouldn't be drawn between. So the plane that showed in CFS had a lot of holes in the fuselage and wings.I think when AF99 tried to smooth and texture these,it couldn't quite do it.I'll let you know how I make out. And I do have several of Cini's programs,if I'd known it would take this long I would have gotten the keys,I will now lol.
