Flight Dynamics

Postby Gary R. » Sun Sep 14, 2003 7:07 am

I am well aware of the less than realistic behavior in MSFS series of certain aspects of flight dynamics.  We all know there is a problem in how adverse yaw is modeled especially when it comes to co-ordinated stick and rudder turns.  Now, I also know that some designers have had success in improving flight modeling within the basic FS structure.  A good example would be Realair Sim's SF260 Marchetti.

What I really am inquiring is, is there anyoneknowledgeable enough here that would know how to improve and lessen the known flaws in all FS planes flight modeling?  Thanks. Any suggestion for tweaking these values would be highly appreciated.

As it's currently unknown from which location in the .air file the values are coming in FS2004

This is the text of one of the posts in the "Flightsim Design Programs" topic...

Hello,

All the best and some of the worst use third party tools to access all the internal files such as .air.  .cfg is really a configuration file to control FDE's assess to .air where all the flight dynamics are accessable.

There is a a board dedicated to editing the .air files for FS2K(2) and CFS 2/3:

first check out:

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/index.html

and support for editing air files and .cfg files is on the Airfile board at:

Both sites provide excellent resources to study and work on flight dynamics.
