FDE Question: Be-12 and Il-18 same prop type?

Does the Be-12 use the same propellor type as the Il-18D?

I'm trying to edit the Aircraft.cfg of the Be-12 into something more accurate (it doesn't get off the water and engines are jet engines in the FDE while turboprops on the real deal)

Considering that both use Ichvenko AI-20(different versions) engines, I think it's a safe assumption.

One thing also to consider, when "borrowing" an aircraft.cfg file, you might want to consider also "borrowing" the donor aircraft's *.air file, and modify the entries.

I'm trying to just about do the same thing.  A nice visual model (not mine), turboprop, but uses a jet engine based flight dynamics.  I barely get any change simply by changing aircraft.cfg file (new, based on the King Air), so I am suspecting that the "offending" problem may be in the *.air file.

A visual model (old afx, converted to FSDS2 ->FS9) works good when produced into FS9 with King Air based dynamics.

- giving it the .air file of the king air doens't work, as the engines won't start
- Giving it the .air file of the Let 410 makes the engines run but it can't takeoff from the water anymore
- giving it the .air file of the C208 makes it amphibious, but it won't takeoff that well from fixed ground(acceleration) and elevator gets out of control as it overspeeds (according to the .air file, not the cfg)

Next .air donor cadidate: Candair 415, should have thought about that earlier

Canadair didn't gave the speed the machine gets in rea life (above 200Kts IAS), and with the Il-18 engine parameters it doesn't take-off.

If someone has a suggestion for an aircraft which has the following specifications, please PM me

Specifications:
Amphibious 2 engine turboprop
Cruise speed around 240Kts
Retractable gear (taildragger preferred)
Shoulder wing with engines around 4000Hp
