Invisible Plane!

Since no one seems to be biting on this in the 02' forum maybe someone here can help me! Using the FSedit program(yes I know it stinks), aircraft are invisible from external view, when finished. I know it has something to do with texture(you may have guessed, I'm a complete novice!), but the standard program leaves zero options. Where do I get the textures, or is it just a matter of enabling them?   Also on the same program, how do I make the Aircraft a tail dragger? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Not enough information - are you building a new plane, repainting an existing plane?

What modelling program are you using?

What are your texture formats?

I'm building a Single-engine, turbo-prop, tail-dragger, using FSedit program on FS2002(pro). The aircraft is complete, and flies well, but it just can't be seen from external view. When I open the TEXTURES file in FSedit, there is nothing there.

So I guess it would be:

-building an aircraft

-FSedit
and
- beats the heck out of me!

...to answer the questions ::)  ???

Sounds like a prob I had when trying to find a way to import fsds1aircraft into cfs1,(one squad member could not fly cfs2) Never did find a fix. Squad member finally got a computer that would run cfs2, so I dropped the research. Aircraft would only show up in chaseview, if panel was up in main window. Would only show up in multiplayer if panel was up and you were in chase view.Weird huh? This probably will not help your prob but maybe it will give you some new lines of investigation.

What files are in your MODEL folder?

FSEDdit is good for setting up the flight dynamics, assigning the panels, etc.  but the visual model is in the MODEL directory in the *.MDL file.

The *.MDL file is created not in FSEdit, but a model building program like gmax, FSDS2, etc.

I believe that if you have "NOMODEL.mdl", that's just a dummy "container" that has no real visual model.

I checked out Gmax, and noticed one of the system requirements was a video card. I don't have one yet(I know...Bad Simmer,Bad!). Is this a waste of time until I get the card, or should I go ahead and download Gmax, so that I can get things started? I figure I will be stumbling around for awhile anyway. ??? ???

Can you run Flight Simulator at all?  Then you have a video card.

You can run gmax with its "Heidi" software driver.  Heck, I run it on a laptop running NT4.0 .

I'll take that as a yes! :o I fly air ambulance alot, and I tell the doctors the same thing...." I can fly a raw data ILS in my sleep, but don't ask me questions like; "his sat. level is way down, what do you think a reasonable cabin pressure is?"  ??? ??? ??? The same goes for computers, I'm one step above Cromagnon, in this department! Who's Heidi, and what does she know about my video card? ??? ??? ??? ??? ;D ;D ;D  I have 480mb of RAM, so my speeds are acceptable, but I keep hearing from the pro's that I know" you need a video card, you need a video card!" I'm now assuming that every computer has one, and that "getting a video card" refers to an upgrade, and if that's the case, why  would the Gmax sight state such? Honestly  :(
