GMax standalone has a problem with exporting with 'dynamic shine', or specular highliting to be exact. You have to use a program called FS Middleman.

see http://takeoff.to/landing .

and also mdlcommander, the link and instructions are all on that site above.

I am using both of them.I tried using the tut I got here and it looks ok in Gmax ,but no shine in CFS2.I've tried different settings also.I must be missing some setting or something.If you are getting a shine could you give me a  basic step by step.

ok they way i'd do it is to;

??? select the material you want to have shine
??? on material editor stick a value like '150' in the specular level box
??? when exporting, when middle man comes up, click options.
??? check 'save x file'.
??? then check 'fix specular'
??? then 'compile x file'
??? and make sure 'combat flight simulator' is checked not 'flight simulator 2002'.
