Hi, kinda new to air files but im getting the hang of it, I cant seem to see what variable changes the tail rotor authority, ive opened other helos with great authority but the settings are exaclty the same as mine.

Any ideas what to change?

Al

I don't know if this is correct (so make a back up copy) but I think it's controlled by the rudder.

I think in the FS2004 format (you don't say which sim you're using, so this could be useless!) the main and tail rotor dynamics are set in the aircraft.cfg file.

This is from the Robinson cfg file:

[MainRotor]
Position = -8.5, 0, 4.91                       //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical feet from datum
Radius   = 12.583                               //feet
max_disc_angle = 5.0
RatedRpm = 510
Number_of_blades = 2
Weight_per_blade = 26.0
Weight_to_moi_factor = 0.58
inflow_vel_reference = 34.0

[SecondaryRotor]
Position = -22.8, -0.74, 1.8                    //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical feet from datum
TailRotor = 1
Radius   = 1.75                                 //feet

Obviously, there isn't enough here to define the tail rotor as well as the main rotor, you could try looking through the airfile too, but I don't know if the new fs2004 variables will be listed.

Im still waiting for 2004 to arrive but I plan to release the chopper for fs2002 and 04 so info on any is good.

Will have a go with the rudder control anyway and see if it works.

Cheers lads

Okedoke, went through all variables on the air file which have something to do with yaw and/or tail rotor, Nothing seems to have any effect.

Basically, Im trying to give my agusta the same tail rotor authority that is on Navin Bopitiya
109E, ive open up both air files side by side but cant seem to find any differences, even using his air file makes no difference to my chopper.

And this is on fs2002.

Cheers
Al

I'd rather wait to see what Cal Booth says on FS9 helicopter dynamics....
