Im having troubles with this operation too. After I cut a window (just one) and then I try to do another one it cuts but not to where it has a hole in the fuselage. Here are the steps I take: (NOTE: this is after I have prepared it)

1. Select the boolean operation

2. I select copy

3. A,B

4. Cut. Remove inside

5.  then select operand B (or whatever its called)

6. select the box or whatever object I use to make the window.

Thanks for any help

I  can't figure out why you're using the copy thing, but this is how i would do it.

Assuming you have the fuselage hollowed out, and you're fixin' to make windows looking to the inside...  Get your fuselage made, then copy it, and scale the copy down, uniformly, into the original model.

Select the boolean operator, select the "pick operand B" option, and click the copy of the fuselage in a wireframe view.

make a box or cylinder primitive that you're going to use to cut the window out, and posistion it where you want the window.

Select the fuselage, and select the boolean operator.  Then click the "Pick operand B" button, and click the window box/cylinder.  You should now have a hollow fuselage with a window cut out in it.  I would post some screenies, but i don't have gmax installed right now...   :(

Actually I figured out the proplem, I didnt get out of boolean mode and it was deleting my first window and then making my second become the first.

Thanks anyway

It's very important to know about Booleans that you can only do it once or twice on an object before it starts screwing things up. If you have a fuselage with 5 windows, you can't add a boolean modifier 5 times and get it to work.

About a month ago I posted several screen shots in this forum showing how to set things up when having to make multiple openings.

I'll see if I can find it and will post a link

Come to think about it, there's a nice, very familiar "TIP" at the FFSD TIPS Section....
