After i got the 3 view set up and start shaping the fuselage in Gmax (with the 'left' side) i get this

Image

Then i shape it from the top and all goes well untill i go to the front view and see this

As you can see the verteces are completely un organized here in the front view, but not in the side view. So what i really what i know is how you can arrange the vertices in a certain view so you dont get this.

Nice to see your start........chip away all the parts that don't look like a Starfighter, and you'll be there...... ;D

The trick to pushing vertices around is making sure you've selected all the ones you want and none of the ones you don't. That's one of the reasons most 3d packages have 4 views, so you can quickly check to see if you've selected the right vertices. I prefer working in one big viewport and use the "L","R","T","B","F","K" keys to quickly change the viewport.

when editing vertices in this case - make sure the "ignore backfacing" box is unchecked. If it's left on, you'll only be selecting the vertices you see on the screen and not the ones on the other side of the fuselage. You'll end up with uneven placement of the vertices.

If you want to salvage your work you can slice the fuselage down the middle, delete the whacky part and then mirror the good half and reconnect the two parts. (If you use the mirror tool instead of the mirror modifier, don't forget to reset the Xform process)
