Moving transparent textures

I know it was said that the easiest way of moving transparent textures to the bottom of the model part hierarchy is to copy and paste it.

This is fine if you have only one transparent part.  However, I have a large number and would like to edit the list.  How can I do this ?

IN FSDS -

Part->Create Part File Merge List

follow the dialog to create the list - for example - MyModel.txt

Then open up the MyModel.txt file in Notepad, or even a spreadsheet, move the parts as you want ...  you can even add comments (check the update readme)

Thank you Felix.  I am not completely familiar with this, but I will give it a go.

I am obviously doing something wrong here.  You can edit the Part File Merge List list until you are blue in the face  --  it makes no difference to the model part hierarchy.

Then, back in your project, you delete all parts and:

File-> Merge Projects -> in the dialog box "files of type" choose "File Merge Lists" and navigate to your edited list file...

That will "bring" back the parts in the edited order.

Thanks Felix.

You make my hair stand on end when you say  "DELETE ALL PARTS !!! "

Anyway, I will make sure that I have a copy saved, for in case I do something stupid.

Remember that Creating a File Merge List actually saves each part individually, so even if you delete the project (assuming you don't throw away the folder) you can "recover" the project by merging the parts from the merge list.

OF course, it's always a good idea to make intermediate backups...:)
