Undercarriage animation

Postby ajver » Wed Mar 26, 2003 12:11 pm

I have a nose gear consisting of the main leg, lower leg, wheelsteer and two wheels.  When I get them all in position and start allocating the correct names, they jump all over the show.

I am now getting tired of searching for the parts and trying to put them together again.

What is the correct way of doing this  --  is there a specific sequence of events, or what ?

Which design tool are you using?

I've noticed this in FSDS 2...it seems to be related to the linking process (I saw it during breakaway parts preparation). It seem linking moves the part axis to the location and rotation of the new parent part's axis. Most times it has worked for me to take note of the location/rotation before linking and then manually restore it after linking.

Yes, I am using FSDS2.

I suppose everybody has to work out his own box of tricks, but it remains a damn nuisance !!
