Using the program AirEd, what parameter should I change within the .air file to make an otherwise invisible AI aircraft appear in the standard P3d/FSX aircraft menu? And what value should I enter? Thanks!

as an Example try this technique

take the "AI" out of the following in the Aircraft CFG File :

title=Learjet 25-D
sim=Learjet 25D VC

AS WELL AS "REMOVE" any AI type from the Aircraft files as shown below - see if that works for ya ????

Depends which sim this for. On older versions of FS change the Aircraft Type in the AIR file from 2 to 0.

This is not normally necessary in FS9 & FSX where AI Only aircraft will not have a Panel folder. To make them appear on the aircraft menu add a Panel folder with the Panel.cfg aliased to an installed aircraft & Hey Presto.

And don't over look a Panel folder and panel.cfg without them the AI will never show in menu.

Just change the aircraft type in the AIR file
from 2 to 0 with the freeware program AirEd.

You do NOT have to have the line 'Aircraft_type=x' in the air file. You can leave that line out (can right click on line and 'Remove Record'), then save of course, with aired). But you DO have to have a 'panel=xxx' line in aircraft cfg or FSX will not load the model. You also should have 'Sound=xxx' in order to have sound.
