Quadcopter Drone

Has anyone ever built a quadcopter drone or small UAV model that could be used as an AI aircraft??
. . I've been all over the web and found nothing except Real Flight and similar programs. I want to have a small AI drone model in P3D v4
Any ideas? . . how hard is it for me to make one
