Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. I was just trying to make a point. The membership issue has nothing at all to do with this. Some sites do charge a membership fee for access to the file download area although the files themselves are free. The charge goes towards upkeep & maintenance of the site which as you know is expensive these days. As I understand it this is perfectly legal & above board.

I understand where you're coming from, but I guess Pete and I wanted to clarify the impression.

Charging an access fee for a site is no different than having to pay for your ISP access.
