hi all iam new to all this flight simulator stuff and to this forum! i would like to know what DDS textures are?

and if i can download a software for creating 3d planes and all that!

and to save you time ,make sure if you are going to do something in dds its only for FSX only and you will only compress using the DDS compresor "Imagetool" located in FSX-SDK ,Other compresors Won't work at all
