Animating question

Postby JakesF14 » Fri Oct 30, 2009 9:04 am

I am busy animating the swing wings. I am going to use the flaps for animating the wings (like the F-14). I've created a dummy, named l_wing, attached to the fuselage, and then the actual wing Ive named l_flap. Now the problem is when exported, and using the flaps setting, the RIGHT wing instead of the left is moving, and also the wingtip move UPWARDS instead of backwards. I switched the names, ect, and als reset the X-Form, but still the problem. I cannot find a good tutorial also that tells me how to do normal flaps. If someone passes by, and have the know-how, and willing to share, I will be forever gratefull  :-)

You're using the FS2004 exporter?

Then the l_flap movement is set not by the keytframe, but by the aircraft cfg, and it moves in the x axis.

you want to tag it l_flap_percent_key (or something like that) so yoiu can keyframe it.

Hmmm I tought it might have something to do with the CFG. Thank you for the tip. Will do!

If you do not have the Makemdl SDK, you need to get it, along with the aircraft container SDK.

By aircraft container SDK you mean an .AIR file editor? Thank you so much, I really appreciate all the help!

The aircraft container SDK tells you what goes in the aircraft.cfg file.

To get the accetable FS2004 animation (and other) tags, you need the makemdl.exe SDK.

You can download all the FS2004 SDKs here. http://www.scenery.org/tutorials_fs2k4_SDK.htm

Okey, main gear is animating in fs very impressive. The swing wings work. Still need to do the flaps and slats though. Oh my wheels dont turn yet...might be a contact point problem in the cfg?? They are bouncing over rough terrain though?

contacts for the rear wheels are ok, the front need to be adjusted so the wheels sit on the ground, not below or sinking into it.

as for the spinning that also an animation thins, similar to the flaps situation...

If not please correct me, its been awhile since I last made an aircraft...
