Hi
she  looks great!!
Use dxtbmp for textures save then as 555 32bit then convert to dxt3 when finished if FPS is an issue

Long time since this one has been made (last one was FS5.1 or so)

Could be that you have used these already, but some nice detailed diagrams can be found here.

If oy want me to find out what the stuff on the instrument panel is, send me a PM.

There were plans to re-create the flight with a Tu-142 but that was cancelled

Thank you for your translation services Ivan :),
good colour plate there too. The only colour shots I had of this craft was those museum pics where that dark blue looks like black. in light of these new details it looks like I have many corrections to keep me busy for a while. Thanks for helping me do this one right guys

I'm sorry to report that no progress has been made since January. Work is taking all my time right now. I hope to get back to it soon, along with my other FS projects. or I guess it could be released as is, no VC, and the FM needs some tweaking. Humm, guess I'll see what you think Ivan

For the VC... i have found a page that has downloadable schematics.
(Here,, click the link on the far bottom of the page)
May be everything you need for texture work and control detail..

Apart from generic stuff (including the text on the tyres) there are two schemes, one for the US route and the previous scheme that lists some of the records set before the US flight.

For the VC... the '4a' picture in the archive has both sides of the cabin... internal view. Apart from that it shows where the panels and the radio sytstems are placed. Panels are almost certain hammerite black. For instrument info... i'll have a look at it if you need it.

Cockpit layout (from front to back): Pilot in front. Navigator facing the side and his panel (or in the sextant position (open cockpit halfway), Copilot in the back, He flies on instruments only (and doesnt seem to have fuel indication on his panel)

For some extra info on the drawings, run the text that is somewhere between the pictures through babelfish

And for the flight model: they needed a jump ramp to get it airborne at full load...
