Re: copy of plug in  folder for gmax with mdlcomma

Actually, I've used MakeMDL, MDLCommander and MiddleMan in full working order since I first installed the FS9 MakeMDL and everything is going good.  Unfortunately, I have no access to my comp with the files on it, but just as a rundown, I can guarantee that you aren't doing something correctly.

Make SURE all the files are renamed correctly.  Oftentimes, this is the result of someone renaming two of the files (MakeMDL and MDLCommander) but not renaming the third correctly.  Also, if they aren't in the correct folder ("plugins" in Gmax's main folder) then they won't work at all because Gmax won't know where to look for them.

If it still won't work, I can try to fix it by having you send me the original plugins folder and I'll rename things and send it back.

That is a generic error message - what does your actuall error log say?  Your error log should be in the same folder that you're trying to export your model to.  THe file should have the name mymodel.log , and it is a straight text file that you can open with Notepad.

It amy not be a plugin problem at all.

well it will not even go that far as to do a log

failed to convert model check system paths

thats comes up as soon as it starts to load the model
have had some email a copy of the folder in the past that worked but after pc crash lost the files on it for the plug in folder tryed several time now to get mdl commander & middleman run so i can keep building
but never got it to run again ???

mainly why my seakings dont have vc cockpits cos of there size

also noticed with a new install of gmax first time you export it can handle larger files than after the second time it ask you to go to reg page after that gamx seams to export smaller files

noticed this with thr rn version of my seaking did a mdl then next day gamx ask to visit site did that then went back after some tweaking on the rn seaking same size in poly count just adjusted some vertice's then went to export no go after that had to take bits off it till it would export
and that turned out to be nearly half the model ie all of the interior vc side
