To think I found Gmax a week ago  ::)
What do I do you ask? I struggle! Then destroy! Then try to put back together what I just broke on accident.....

It starts with the best pictures you can find of them to study.  If you can get some data specs, at minimum the length, great.

Then, you build them.  Build one, once perfected, use the array feature in gmax to clone at specified angles.

If you need help using existing gmax source, you are welcome to download one of my aircraft from FFDS and use the parts as a starting point.  (Recommend the AC520 or 680)

You will need prop0_still, prop0_slow sets, and a blurred prop.

Slow is a semi-transparent copy of the still set.

Blurred is a different animal.  Take a look at mine.

Props should be "featherable" if they were on this aircraft.  Use the lever_pitch_prop0 tag for that.

Usually, prop blades are linked to the spinner.  Develop the spinner and center it.  Set the pivot (affect pivot only) at the objects center.

When you build the blades, set the blade pivot at the same coordinates as the spinner and link to the spinner.  Animate the blades 0-100 to pitch.

Hope this helps get you started.
