Changing a/c scenery when engines off

Postby TwoLow » Thu Jul 21, 2005 11:07 am

As part of my ongoing saga to create as true as can be done Air Force One 'squadron' I have come to this:

The two AI C-17's I use (one to carry 1 or 2 'Marine One' helicopters and the other to carry the motorcade) are great looking but when they have engines off they can either stay closed, show some crates and a 2 1/2 ton truck, or show a Humvee and M-1 tank.

I of course have them stay closed up to keep to theme but it would make my day to have them open up and one show a black limo, SUV, or anything that remotely resembles a motorcade offloading from the plane and the other have a Marine 1 (or both of them) beside the plane. Can this be done without a degree in graphics?

I have a Marine One chopper but have no idea how to take that and make it a piece of scenery in a aircraft.

Sorry if this is long winded and stupid  ;)

you can have the motorcade and stuff appear when the plane shuts down... you need to model them in Gmax (as you would want them to appear) and then tag them with the proper name (don't know the name but i know it can be done, somehow)

there are people here who would be happy to shed some more light on this one... i hope they do
