Further to F4F Wildcat undercarriage

Postby ajver » Tue Feb 22, 2005 10:34 am

I have come across a detailed drawing of the undercarriage in a Model Airplane News of March 1983.  (Now you can guess my age if you like).  The drawing was produced by Bob Karlsson for a quarter scale RC model.  This enabled me to at least get the construction right.  Not sure about the retraction sequence, but it is going where it is supposed to go and looks reasonably good.

If anybody is interested in the drawing I can upload it (if I knew how).

Doesn't mean anything - I can put my hands on a Model Airplane News of 1941, showing a 3-view of one the lates British bombers - the Handley Page Hampden.  And trust me - I wasn't even a thought in my parent's minds at the time....

I can also lay hands on a 1952-53 Jane's .....

HOWEVER, model magazines are invaluable references for the modeller - plastic or virtual !!
