Can somebody please help me with reference material to details of the F4F undercarriage construction and retraction sequence ?

Suggestion - get a good 1:48 scale model of the F4F.
I know it's one of the things that drives people nuts.
I believe that the CFS2 Wildcat has it down decently, so you may want to look at that sequence in the game.
I believe that the Squadron/Signal "F4F In Action" and F4F Walk Around" has good detail photos.
