Visual model could not be displayed (UPDATE)

Postby BiggBaddWolf » Sun Jan 23, 2005 1:24 am

Ok I finally got the plane to load in FS without crashing Flight Sim, but now when it loads you can see the panel but not the plane  ???

It appears that everything is correct in the cfg's and airfile....I guess something isnt though.... :o

BiggBaddWolf,

Can you not see it in VC mode or Spot mode or both?May have to set your Eyepoint in the aircraft cfg.

Nope, the only thing you can see is the panel in the 2D mode...........when you go to spot mode there is nothing there....... :(

And when you click on the plane to load it, there is the cloud background like with all of them, but it doesnt show the plane, but it will load like normal..... :(

Wolf. Which aircraft is this & where can I get it? Obviously something not quite right about it.

Are you sure it isn't the invisible jet from the Wonder Woman series back in the 70s? (I think it was the 70s. May have been earlier) ;D

Kidding aside, does the airplane show in the preview when you select aircraft?

It isnt a downloadable plane, it was one I did in Gmax from a tutorial.....Just having problems getting it exported into FS.....I originally posted in the Aircraft Design forum, but someone moved it over here... :o

Nope it doesnt show in the preview, but you can click OK/Fly Now and it doesnt crash FS like it was, but the only thing you can see is the 2D panel....If you go into spot view there is nothing.... ???

You may be onto something with the invisible jet, maybe it was painted with special paint to make it invisible....LMAO

I haven't tried it on purpose but I had a repaint for the default Baron that turned the engine nacells semi-transparent when looking out through the VC. I also had a repaint for the C-123 that turned semi-transparent at night. That one was missing a texture file.

Ah, "I see" said the blind man. If you had been more specific in the first place I daresay it wouldn't have been moved & you would have your answer by now. ;)

Yeah I think I know the Baron texture you are talking about, and there was a fix for it at one of the download sites, dont remember which one now though...

I'm sorry Wolf but had you simply mentioned that this was your own project in Gmax I'm sure this topic wouldn't have been moved.

If I knew the answer I would tell you but I don't work with Gmax. There's no point in me making wild guesses.

If you still can't see your aircraft, switch to Top-down view and zoom way out and see if you can see it.
