Welding verticies

Postby knife-edge » Sat Jul 31, 2004 11:50 pm

Hey guys I just want to say this forum is great you guys are very helpfull, I just don't think I will ever understand gmax.

How do you weld 2 verticies in a fashion to keep the destination vertex to hold its possition without stretching out to the midpoint between the source vertex?

:)

Thanks,

Jeff.

If you're talking about JUST two vertices, here's how I usually do it.

I select the vertex that is in the spot where you want them to be welded at and copy the information out of the x,y,z boxes at the bottom of the screen.  Once you copy the x section, select the other vertex and copy the data into the corresponding box.  Do this for all three numbers and then weld as usual.

First keep at it and you will.

Second to weld two vertices and maintain the position of one, use Target Weld. When you've selected this option all you need to do is select and drag the vertices you want welded over to the stationary vertices you want it welded to. You'll see the mouse pointer change indicating it's ready to weld. When the pointer changes just drop the vertices and it's done.
