Airfoil

Postby knife-edge » Tue Jul 20, 2004 10:09 pm

Hi Guys. I am new to this and going through all the tutorials you have on here it is very good. There is so much to learn.

What I am trying to do is construct the slingsby 67C aircraft (used by the airforce for trainning). I need to find out several things. Does the model you make effect the way the aircraft flys? Or is it only the aircraft.cfg file?

Also does anyone know what airfoil is used in a slingsby T67?

:)

What you see has nothing to do with how you fly.

Flight dynamics are all in the *.air and aircraft.cfg files.

Your Slingsby can fly as fast and as high as a 747, if you want it to.

Per Jane's 1992-1993, the T67C (T67M similar) uses NACA 23015 root, NACA23013 tip, dihedral 3.5-degrees, incidence 3-degrees.

Ok I am trying to follow the wing pdf tutorial, and somehow got lost at the step "Goto the material editor, and then click new, then click diffuse map button and browse to your airfoil file....

Where is this Diffuse map button???

Thanks

Jeff.

Click on the MAPS roll out and then where it says "NONE" ...  find your airfoil image in the appropriate folder.

I have the graphic of the airfoil in the background, but I have to move this aside to see the lines underneath. How can I make my lines appear ontop like in the tutorial?

Thanks,

Jeff.
