Bitmap removal tip for Gmax useres

Postby FSEdge » Mon Jun 21, 2004 11:49 am

The following question has been asked on other forums, so I thought I would post the question and my answer to it here too.

Gmax users have asked in the past how to remove a bmp, tga or jpg file from an object without taking such drastic measures as using UVW/Material remove.

The answer is quite simple:

While in the Material Editor open the Maps rollout and simply drag anyone of the map slots that are blank (None) into the slot that contains the Bit map, tga or jpg file you don't want on the object anymore. When the dialog opens tell it to copy. This will effectively remove the Bit map or other files.

Or do the same in the Blinn Basic Parameters rollout by dragging the Specular map slot into the Diffuse Map slot provided the Specular map slot is empty.

I hope this tip is helpful.
