adding strobe/nav lights

I need to know how strobes and navigation lights are added to planes in FS98.
      I found an earlier post on this forum about adding FX files to the CFG file, but I think that may have been for another edition of FS. I can’t find those files in FS98.
     I downloaded a plane that's a heck of a lot of fun, but apparantly was built without lights.
