I have tried to open a bgl file with NOTEPAD it seems I have staffed up badly as every bgl file in my FS2002 scenery folder has the notepad logo on it instead of the original windows logo.I have uninstalled FS2002 and reistalled all to no avail. Can anyone help me getting to the original windows logo it would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

You've associated BGL file extensions with Notepad by leaving the box checked when you opened it. This won't do any harm although Notepad will not open these files. It's possible to remove the association of a file type from Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options. Click on the File Types tab & select the BGL file. Then click Delete. You can change the icon from the right-click Properties option.
My Working with Windows article might interest you.

I once associated a .2AF file to MS Paint, removing the extension like Hagar suggests sorted out the problem.

Hi Hagar,
Thank you for the prompt response it worked all back to normal and your program WORKING WITH WINDOWS is absolutely brilliant.
The other problem I have is that I deleted the NOTEPAD editor as I was so annoyed at the time. Can you tell me how to go about getting it back again.

Hi Skyhawk. It's not a good idea to simply delete any program. It might be possible to reinstall Notepad from the Windows CD. If not, I suggest you use Wordpad instead.
