Skyhawk. Notepad & Wordpad come bundled with every version of Windows I've used. They are both simple text editors. You can run them from Start/Programs/Accessories or by right-clicking a text file & selecting Open With. Make sure the box is unchecked to prevent the file type being associated with the program.
