*.AIR file editing questions

Postby Travis » Sun Jul 20, 2003 12:14 am

Got a little problem.

I have been trying for three months to redo the .air file for my V22 to put turboprop engines on, but the program I have been using gives me an error message.

The program is called AirUpdate by Jerry Beckwith, and it uses an Excel spreadsheet to input the data, and then the AirUpdate program to change the .air file.

The problem occurs when I press one of the buttons to initiate the program.  I get a message saying "Runtime error 13: type mismatch".  I don't know much about Excel, so is this a problem with the program, or am I entering the wrong data anywhere?  If anyone knows, any help would be appreciated.

I also would like to get in touch with Jerry Beckwith, so if anyone knows how I can find him, an email address or something would be great.

The best editor for .air files is the AirEd, which is downloadable here in the utilities section.
I've not used this other one, but it sounds like it isn't compiling the file properly.

I reckon the type mismatch is Excel thinking it knows which format the cell should be, which probably isn't compatible with the .air program compiler.
