GMax Frame Rate Problems

Postby Adam Preece » Mon May 19, 2003 6:04 am

Hi all!

I know there could be a lot of things causing it but could anyone give me an idea why an aircraft I've designed in GMax is giving a friend of mine frame rate problems? It seems to work fine on my PC but causes real jerkiness on his PC even though they both have similar specs... Can anyone help?

That is the same BS I went through while I was testing out the F-117A Have Blue (from project Have Blue) in FS2002.

I found out that the aircraft's panel and texture folders had unused files that where just sitting there and taking up space.

If you have any panel_bkup.cfg (or any other file that has the term backup) files or unused textures that are no longer needed (and you are sure of your new panel.cfg file), then delete those. You will relieve the strain being put on the PC.

If it doesn't work then try reducing the poly-count (number of polygons a aircraft model has) by deleting any polygons that you can't see at all (on both exterior and interior models of your aircraft.

Believe me, I have GMAX like you and I went through the same BS your going through. It can be fixed.
