Yet Another "Help me get it to work well!" Thread . . .

Postby Travis » Sat Feb 05, 2011 8:00 pm

I finally bought a new(ish) system, and I'm now trying to get FS9 to run well and look good.  Any advice on what to tweak here would be great.

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ - Dual Core
2.20 GHz, 3 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 7600 GS
WinXP SP3

Any other info needed?  I have all sliders maxed in FS9, and anisotropic filtering is bilinear.  Other than that, I haven't messed with the NVidia control panel much, other than to take a basic look at it.

Well, okay.

How about the Nvidia graphics options?  Should I let FS control most of the graphics conditions, or should I set Nvidia to take care of that?  Or does it matter?

Turn off anti-aliasing in FSX, then turn it on in the nvidia control panel.

Try setting texture filtering to trilinear within FSX, and force x16 anisotropic filtering in the nvidia control panel.

or

And also try setting texture filtering to anisotropic within FSX and tick let the application decide in nvidia control panel

Check the stickies at the top of the FSX forum...

Heehee!  Well, thanks for an answer, and I will try those ideas anyway.  But if you look at my first post:

I didn't look at the stickies in the FSX forum because, well . . . ;)
