What am I missing?

I'm trying to OC my system a little (from 3.0Ghz-3.2Ghz) and in doing so, I've discovered that no matter how I set my DDR2 Voltage (supposed to be running at 2.1v) it only ever runs at 1.90V.

I've set it to auto, 1.80V, 2.10V, 2.50V, the result is always the same.

I've confirmed this in the BIOS hardware monitors and in Windows with Everest. What gives? Sensor issue?

No clue about AMD, but if no one here can help you go and join the forums at www.overclock.net, they have both dedicated AMD and Intel forums, I am sure that some AMD guru over there will be able to help you.

Might be a board quirk, a sensor issue, or a problem with the monitoring.

I would browse through all the BIOS options and see if there's anything that could possibly interfere with it.

You could also update BIOS but be warned people can and have lost their motherboards by doing this including a couple of people on this website!!! Warranties do not cover improper bios flashing. I don't think it is worth it.

RAM usually needs more voltage for tighter timings or higher speeds, you might be able to manually check by increasing the frequency of the RAM till it's prime95 blend test unstable then increasing voltage and seeing if that stabilizes it. Don't go too far (0.05v) over stock voltage though, remember voltage is what kills hardware.

If you're going to all this trouble for only another 200mhz then it's probably not worth it. That's only another 6% in performance so if you're getting 20fps you'll now be getting 21fps....

Thanks guys. I've opened a support ticket with Asus to see if this a common/easily fixed
