Tooltips?

How do I turn off the Windows tool tips, you know...those annoying yellow pop up box's that tell you info on what you're about to click on?

It's driving me nutz when I'm trying to work in the cockpit, like switching frequencies on the radio....

I see a program out there, MS PowerToys with a Tweak UI that's supposed to do it...is this the case or is there a better way?

Thanks in advance!

The 'cockpit tooltips' are easily turned off in the sim, just uncheck the box for 'Show cockpit tooltips'.

FSX-Settings>Display>Aircraft tab

FS9-Settings>General

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Folder Options.

On the "View" tab remove check from "Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items". Should be the bottom one.

Click on OK and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps,
Joe

Got the Windows tips fixed...thanks!

Interesting though, it appears that somehow the FSX tooltips got turned back on... :-?   I have no clue how that may have happened....gremlins?

That could be a new topic..."What MSFS Gremlins have you encountered"?  ;)

It's all good now!

Thanks all!
