Settings for Intel E6750 and Asus P5B

Postby JHA » Wed Jul 01, 2009 10:11 am

Bought this second hand system very, very cheap, can someone help a noob with the best settings?

I know the E6750 can be clocked up to 3-4 GHz, but I'm a little nervous about the process.

Cooling should be Ok (38 C. iddle), I installed a Zalman CNPS 7500.

Specs:

Intel CPU E 6750 2.66 Ghz
Graphics card: ASUS EN7950 GT 500 Mb
Mobo: ASUS P5B
Memory: 1x4 GB DDR2 PC2-5300 (333Mhz)
HDD: 320 GB Maxtor
PSU: 430 W

Maybe the RAM and the ASUS EN7950 needs to be changed to something faster?

Thanks for any advise.

JHA

PS: Just learned that maybe this P5B mobo can't run E6750... Only 1066 Mhz, and CPU go to 1333 Mhz...

HELP!!!

Check this thread: http://www.buildyourown.org.uk/forums/t ... C_ID=26231

You might get compatibility if you flash the BIOS (very easy).

I'd change the RAM first (for 800mhz) and the video card after that, but be careful: Don't spend much money that you could save for a newer system.
