Sound issue

It is odd that when i O/C my Cele above 2.70 Ghz my sound stop working and windows says that there is no sound device installed. any help would be handy. and would i see more performance out of a faster cpu at the moment. just in general gaming  ;)

And sound card in realtek ac97 onboard ;)

Please anyone help on this... my motherboard is an old msi ( i don't know model ) but it is not on msi.com and when i tried to re-install soud driver when it was at 3.00Ghz it said that the driver did not have a sign from microsft :-?

I don't do much overclocking, so I don't know why it would cause your sound to go out. Even though the drivers haven't passed MS's signature program, you should still be able to install them.

Check the BIOS for PCI Latency and set it to 64 or 128 and try again

Losing sound with overclocking on an older baord can require a bus latency change however it sounds to me like you are pushing things too far and without voltage increases to stabilize the board.

mmmmm my pci is set to auto. and i do not know how much voltage my psu is :-[

Voltage increases mean upping the CPU and memory voltage SAFELY.. but yes the PSU not being powerful enough can play into that

Well setting it to 64 or 128 did not work :( I will Check my PSU code and Google it

mmmmh how do i find the voltage of my psu... its says 350wb what does wb mean i've googled it :-/

EDIT: found it, it is 250volts i think that is low :(

BTW: it's a qpc super quite ATX switching power supply :D
