Hello, I'm new so I don't know whether this has been posted before. When I'm on the ground I am only getting around 7-10 frames per second, and in the air a bit more but no more than 14 at most :-/. Anybody have any suggestions on how I can improve this? 20+ would be decent. My system specs are in my Sig. Thanx  :)

your processor is killing you. That's why your getting such bad FPS. If you want framerates, your either going to have to get a new computer, turn down the rendering sliders, or get FS2004 or X plane.

Ok, thanks. This computer is actually pretty new, so too bad  :'(
Is there any way I can upgrade my processor and install it into a laptop?

Well, it all depends on your motherboard, but generally speaking no you can't replace CPUs on laptops. I tried running FSX on my laptop which is nearly the same as yours except my CPU is an AMD Turion 64X2 TL-56 (1.8 ghz) and I also have really cruddy graphics (ATI Radeon X1100 >:( >:(   it's not that your CPU was bad, it's just that it's speed isn't adequate for FSX at high settings, and neither is mine : ). I run FS2004 on my laptop (runs very nicely and NO BLURRIES, plus good smooth multiplayer flying) and FSX and X-Plane 9 beta-2 on my desktop, x-plane 9 runs like a dream (very nice program for only being made by like four guys. Only complaint is that cities are all generic without add ons), and FSX is pretty good too, but I'm still saving up for a desktop that can actually run FSX at pretty good settings and maintain at least 22FPS (see sig)

So basically, the only laptops that can run FSX well are the ones that cost around $6000 or so  ;D, you'd be much better off downgrading your software and saving your FSX DVDs and your money for a good desktop. Of course, it's ultimately up to you, but I'm just giving my two cents based on my experience with FSX

No not at all.. you can get plenty of quality add-ons for FS9 which to a certain extent make it look as good or better than FSX.

Yes you can.

It's not easy and is dependant on the other hardware, but it is possible.

is there a difference between notebooks and desktops with the same processor, my core2 E6300, 1950pro, 3 gigs pc5300 will run anything I ve tried maxed out including fs9 with the exception of fsx it wont even bother with that one. yet. lol

Notebooks are just small and expensive and not for gaming. (most anyways) Well, I get 20+FPS in FSX on mostly low, medium low, settings and 20+FPS on all maxed (except clouds and AA) on FS9. And I run on an nvidia 6150SE integrated card.
