Yup. Theres a temp monitor, so you can see how hot the card is getting. But keep bumping it up 15Mhz, until it becomes unstable. Then go back to the clock before it and stay there.

Do what he said, BUT, if it gets past 70 (maybe more but that's what's recommended to me) degrees back off.
Don't use automatic overclocking, inbuilt ATI overdrive thing sucked, my stock X850 got to 92 degrees (probably false as I get no Artifacts) in Oblivion, then Overdrive wanted to overclock it by 20mhz.

I don't see why it would be false. The core shutdown temperature on my 6600GT is 145 degrees celsius so apparently they allow cards to run at high temperatures.

Hi Guys
ive downloaded the ati tool but when i see what my maximum core and memory is it shuts down the card at about 220mhz and resets. So i have manually upped my core and memory by 15mhz each the other problem is i do not have a heat sensor on my card so i do not know what the tempreture of the card is reading so i must be very careful

Go grab a Zalman VF 700Cu. Should solve any heat problems you will ever have. If youve got the cash, look into a VF-900. Awesome piece of cooling right there.
Cheers
