Hi I need help overclocking through bios. I have the Phoenix award Bios and I have an amd athlon 64 processor 3200+. My pc is liquid cooled. I have a KN8-SLI mother board 2 gb of ram 200 gb hard drive 2 6800 gs's with sli.  my aim is ktmderf

and my msn is ktmderf@msn.com I just wont to overclock my processor for now thanks a lot

Ramos how much overvolt did he have. When AMDs clock they need alot of power to be stable.

Okay well if you have a 3200+ If I remember right your multiplyer is x10 so multiply your Core clock by 11, and stick a decimal between the first two numbers. ex: 200MHz clock = 2Ghz. Also remember to add VCore. Something like .25 for every 250Mhz you increase.

What do you mean decimals and everytime i increase my fsb say from 200 to 220 i got reset my jumper? Do you have an aim or msn or something so you could walk me through this? thanks a lot

Ok sorry for asking all the questions guys. Id like to tell you this ha. I increased my fsb clock to 210 mhz and my cpu core voltage to 1.420 volts but everytime i go passed 220 mhz i cant get windows to boot i get a blank screen so thne i gotta go clear cmos. Is there something im doing wrong not enough volts should i be messing with some of the other voltages? Ive tried increasing the voltages also still get the same problem thanks for all the help.

Have you set a ram divider? The ram may be running overspec at the settings you specified, or the timings may be wrong. Let the ram auto-configure and use those settings as a base reference to start with.

Bios is complex on that board.

First, configure the BIOS to the correct automatic configuration for your hardware.

Manual overclocking requires that auto overclock options are all disabled, so after the parameters are all set to standard values for your hardware, switch to manual settings and tweak only the relevant values and touch nothing you don't completely understand.

Set the hypertransport multiplier to 4x with the ram set to a DDR333mhz (166mhz) divider.

Volt increases should not be required for a 20mhz OC, but try it as a last resort. I think the problem lies elsewhere, unless it really is a terrible CPU that barely makes stock speed which is unlikely.

I tried to help him for about an hour with no result. But your right congo, that BIOS is a b**** and a half to get setup right. I think I got him about half there.
