It depends what view point you want really...

In my case its OC'ing, and my RAM (1Gb) is holding me back becasue its PC3200.

Can you give me more specs, and some insight as to what you want out of your rig?
Dan  ;)

Give some specs on your rig so we have a better idea of your needs.

Upgrading the vid card generally helps.

Yes Specs will help, and so will a new vido card. We would also like to be given a budget, as you could just ask whats goot and we will tell you the ATi Radeon X850 XT PE or the nVidia 7800GTX.

Cheers

Of course, to use either of aforementioned cards, you need a PCI-express motherboard which itself is expensive. Plus, both cards are high-end, but buy the 7800 GTX over the x850 as its twice as powerful.

The 7800 GTX is about 500-550 bucks (check newegg.com). The prices for the 7800 is astoundingly low compared to the 6800 Ultra at launch.

A good card for the person with a reasonable budget is the 6600 gt, which is the best bang for your buck. Don't be fooled by its classification as a mainstream card. Its performence is awesome and its price is indeed mainstream (around 150 bucks). It comes in both AGP and PCI-express flavors.

If you are upgrading for gaming purposes then a good graphics card is your best first step. Lots of ram and a powerful CPU won't do your game much good if the graphics card bottle necks it.

I also agree with the 6600GT being a great card.

Dan PC-3200 ram wont really limit an OC especcially with AMD as you can set a divider and loose veery little performance and still get a higher OC. The wonders of integrated mem controllers ;)
