If you're running a 2.6 with stock graphics (which I assume to mean an integrated graphics chip) there isn't much I'd say you NEED to OC.  Just put a good card in there and you'll have a screamin' system.
Great edit, Bob.

No, what I'm saying is you shouldn't have to OC that box.  It's in great shape, once you get a decent vid card in there.  I'd definitely recommend the X-45.  Been using it for almost three years, never had a problem with it. 8)

alrighty, thanks for the help.

I have the Msft. Sidewinder Precision 2, and it performs well, but I think it's time to upgrade. i was gonna get a refurbished X-45 from Saitek (cheaper, and problems mostly fixed). now if they had refurb. X-52's i'd be all over that!!

as for graphics, my memeory is making up for where graphics stop. i'm looking into Nvidia cards.

Since your computer is a dell (according to the link), I doubt you will be able to overclock. Dell uses heavily modified phoneix BIOS's.

Overclocking is generally done from the BIOS unless a mobo supports windows overclocking software (your mobo does not).

Basically speaking, you cannot overclock.

As for upgrading your gfx card, I recommend (and many others will also recommend) the 6600 gt AGP. Its a nvidia card and has the best price for performence ratio for all mainstream dx9 cards. It retails for about 190 (though I've seen it cheaper). At that price, no card of similar (and in some cases, higher) price can match it in terms of performence.

Your also welcome to get an enthusiast level dx9 card, but those are much more expsensive. the x850 XT PE is the best dx9 card there is. It costs about 600 (though it will probably cost more due to it being hard to find)

I assure you, all the RAM in the world isn't going to make up for an integrated graphics chip....I've also got a GB running.  If I take my card out and go back to the IGC, there's a WORLD of difference.
Great edit, Bob.

dell has 5 choices in the BIOS, and none of them about clock speeds
