If your desktop is cluttered with  icons, thus slowing your pc down.....A handy idea is to create folders for all your different programs, icons, installers, and other desktop items.(e.g,having all your game icons in a folder called Games, readmes and other documents in a  Notes folder,etc,etc...)

But if the icons are only shortcuts it wont be slowing your PC down hardly at all!!

Its only if you actually have files on your desktop that it slows stuff down.  Just keep everything on there as a shortcut!!

Is this what you mean by a "Cluttered Desktop".... ::)...?

....actually, if I didn't have all this "stuff" on my desktop I wouldn't remember having the programs in the first place...
....It's the "Virtual Memory" problem all over again... ::)... ;D...!

Allrighty Fozzer that is enough out of you, must get Ozzy to give you your medicine... About gave me a heart attack with that win98!!! lol...

As for desktop organization I only have 3 icons right now...and I consider that quite a few as sometimes I only have one.. ;-)

the essentials:

Shortcut to a fodler which contains shortcuts to all of my flightsim essential files for multiplayer, screenies, etc...

Shortcut to school folder which contains all of my files for this semester.. after the 18th they will all get copied to a cd and shortcut deleted..

and finally...my recycle bin icon..(d'uh!)

LOL, you ain't alone Paul. You have no virtual memory left and my mental hard drive is definatly fragmented and my mental ram is fried.  I am officially senile at 41.  By 51 I will probably be in cushy padded hotel room hopefully with a cute, perky nurse to wipe the drool off of my chin, lol.

Hey L1011, if you are into L1011's I have an excellent one that I downloaded as a pre-release beta which I think is now pay or shareware.  It's from a German developer named Oliver Moser.  Its called the OM Wings L-1011.  Mine came in Delta livery but I think he only really did the panel and used Mike Stones model. I like it a lot, it flies very well and the systems simulation is really over the top.  Only bad thing I found about it is that it throws a sound error which I have to minimize FS and close the error message out before I can proceed.
