I found a cool toy :-)

I just discovered quite by accident while re=installing my chipset drivers that there is a cool utility on my moboard cd called Easy Tune 4.  It is one of the added value softwares on my moboard disk and it allows easy over clocking with-in windows of cpu, agp, pci, and dram busses as well as setting fan speed and voltige parameters and also includes a system monitor to check temperatures and fan operation. So far, I started with 2.09 gig and now am currently running @ 2.25 gig with no temperature problems as yet.  By the way, my board is a gigabyte k7 with an AMD 2800XP.

No, I wasn't that advanced at that time however I did havve a look at my bios menu and noticed all the parameters there I can set fairly easily to however it is very nice to be able to do this without leaving windows and the front page under start/run/dxdiag ticks off in real time what my main bus clock speed is running.  Am up from 2.09 factory to 2.3 and temperatures are still holding stable but I know that this is the edge of the envelope. I had it running on the low side of 2.4 and it went into thermal for my wife while I was at work and I had to explain to her once she was able to go for re-boot how to restore defaults.
