How do I get better performance out of XP

I used to have Win98, and over the years I found a number of websites devoted to tweaking the system to get better gaming performance.  Are there any sites devoted to doing the same for XP?  I'm not really interested in overclocking or modem speeds for multiplayer, since I don't play games online, and having just bought the 'puter, I'm not too interested in opening the case and messing with the machine's insides.

Does anyone know some websites that go over simple configuration settings for windows, or any useful downloads for turning a home desktop machine into a superfast gaming rig?

Thanks.

Hi Beery,
There is a site I use BUT it is in french!
http://www.topastuces.com/wxp.htm
it allows you to change settings (automatically) in the XP Registry and the results are excellent
The same kind of site must exist in English but I did not found it yet, if you find it tell me.
Thanks in advance
I hope it helps

Hey, quit your search!

Google ToolBar is now here(it's been here for a long time)..........

seach for google toolbar and download it.....

Go the site in French and click on Page Info on the toolbar. Click Translat Into English and Voila! Hey, 98% perfect. Try it, i am viewing it right now

EDIT: Some links don't work :( Make that like 50% perfect?

http://www.outertech.com/ Download Cacheman. I've been using it for a long time. :D It'll help optomize your RAM and keep things running smoothe. :)

You could look up Tweak UI, although I don't know if you're really into tweaking stuff like that.
