Grainy graphics

Postby P3FE » Mon Mar 10, 2003 1:15 pm

any help would be great, i have ms flight sim 2002 pro, everything worked fine, then today, all the graphics got real grainy, looks like its in 8 bit, before had good graphics running 1024X768 32 bit, running an average of 26 FPS. then all of a sudden went to heck. I have a 1.4 proc, 256 megs ram, 128 meg GF2 mx400, using windows XP, not the best setup, but works for now. tried changing all the settings with the same results, any help would be great.
Thanks

Have you changed any system settings or added any new software?
Also are you running the latest nvidia drivers and directX9?

Go into the game, go to settings/display/hardware and make sure mipmapping is checked.

If it is, then you have a problem. It happened to me once but I forget how I fixed it.

Try reinstalling Direct X, your video driver or failing that, rename your FS2002 directory, uninstall fs2002 and reinstall the game, that will tell you if the game itself is screwed up. To get your original game back, rename it's folder to the current installed game folder name. (you may want to delete the new installation, or keep it renamed (fs2002.bak) as a backup.

Good luck
